  • Before you begin your yoga class, start with an orientation. Ask the students what they expect from yoga. A nice conversation will help the students to get a realistic approach towards yoga. Also tell them that yoga involves discipline that yields results only after practicing for a certain period of time. This conversation will also help the students to know what to expect from the class.

  • In the next step, explain the benefits of yoga and breathing exercise. There are many yoga where the person is required to sit in a relaxed manner and mediate and chant mantras. Explain the significance of these yogas. If you can properly communicate all these aspects then you can motivate the students about practicing yoga in a disciplined way.

  • Teach the yoga students the positions of yoga step by step. Allow them to learn the steps and ask not to overdo any step. Yoga helps in a great way in gaining the confidence to face a challenge. Ask the students to accept the challenge and encourage them simultaneously. If required repeat the process and never lose your patience.

  • Demonstrate each step and explain them. For example, if you are instructing the class to reach their left arm overhead, demonstrate the position, so that the student can understand and follow you. This kind of instruction will help the students in learning about the positions faster and in a better way.

  • Walk through out the room and see whether the students are properly following the position or not. This will convey the students that you are there to give them what they need in class. This will also help the students in becoming more aware of their mistakes and make them more inspired to achieve the perfect position of the yoga. And from time to time remind the students to breathe as this will keep the mind focused on body.
