Most people practice yoga with the help of body movements. A yoga body is best made out of such energizing practices. The following are the three yoga bodies desirable to serious yogi and yoginis.
Physical Body
In Sanskrit, this is known as the Annamaya Kosha. This refers to “food sheath”. This is one of the three philosophies of yoga wherein the body is mastered by the mind. To take care of the body one does not need to glorify it. The body has to be controlled by the mind and this is what yoga aims at. Once the body comes under the control of the mind your health improves drastically. However, the mind has to be under your control too and this can be achieved through rigorous practice of yogic postures. Meditation and various other asanas helps the mind to calm down and think more rationally. A yoga body is disciplined enough to be maneuvered by the mind. It understands the mind and works accordingly. It is an achievement to be able to attain a physical body that listens to your mind.
Astral Body
The astral body consists of three sheaths. The Pranic sheath experiences the sensations, the emotions are housed by the mental sheath and the mind is guided by the intellectual sheath. This requires deep meditation to achieve this state of mind and astral body.
Casual Body
In Sanskrit this is referred to as
Karana Sharira. It is the blend of the astral and the physical body.
