About Power yoga
Power yoga is an active form of yoga hence it is also referred to as dynamic yoga. It emerged in the 1990's and was introduced by two American yoga specialists. The word power refers to the fast pace of this form of yoga. Power yoga is simple yoga reconciled with powerful and strenuous exercises. The yoga teacher turned this form into a fitness tool. Power yoga is basically a modification of Ashtanga yoga. The two teachers gained their knowledge in Ashtanga yoga from an Indian yoga specialist and reinvented the new technique of the power yoga.
The sole focus on fitness makes this form different from all the other forms of yoga. The power is related to heavy exercising. The poses differ with different teachers but the stress on elasticity and strength of the body remains the sole focus.
