Acne Scars
Acne scars are the marks that is left behind after the acne has cleared. Depending upon the severity of acne you may have a pitted scar or mere pigmentation marks. What causes acne scars?
Acne, a skin condition after healing leaves behind scars, that is a result of the damage to the skin tissue. There are two types of acne scars. Pitted scars are those that are left after a severe case of acne, when the underlying tissues of the skin are damaged.
Sometimes pigmented marks/blemishes are left after the acne has healed. Squeezing or pinching the acne often leads to ugly scar marks.

- The juice of a garlic/tomato works miracles for acne marks.
- Turmeric paste too is very effective in the treatment of acne scars.
Medical treatment
A number of creams and ointments are available in the market, which have proved effective in the treatment of acne scars. For pigmented scars, you can try using bleaching creams on the affected areas for lightening the blemishes. It is however, suggested that you consult with a medical practitioner or a beautician before using any of the over – the – counter medications.
