Face Care
How often do we take our skin for granted and forget to follow the simplest of exercises like cleaning our faces regularly to keep it clean? When someone meets you, it is your face that they see first. Therefore caring for your face is important not only from a health point of view but also from an aesthetic and social perspective.
Our skin can be of different types. It may be dry, or oily, or even dehydrated. The fortunate among us have a normal skin. However, most of us have a combination skin with the oily T zone consisting of the forehead, nose, and chin and the dry areas around it mainly, the eyes, cheeks and mouth. Some of us have a sensitive skin which is allergic to certain chemicals and natural products. Therefore, it is important to know your skin type before you decide on a skin care regime for yourself.
Most of us have experienced skin problems at certain times. Acne, blackheads and pimples are something all of us are probably familiar with. However, with a healthy skin care exercise, these problems can be easily taken care of.
As we age, our skin loses its tautness and moisture which results in age spots and wrinkles. By following a healthy skin care regime starting at our youth, we can delay the aging process so that we look young for a longer time.
While there are several face care products available in the market that you may choose from, you can also prepare your own homemade recipes with natural ingredients that you commonly use. However, your daily skin care routine should consist of cleaning and moisturizing your skin every day.
- Cleansing
Wash your face with water at least twice a day. Water not only cleans away the grime and dirt, it also helps to restore moisture to your skin. Remove all make up gently with a cotton bud soaked in a cleansing lotion. Dab a face cleansing cream smoothly over your eyes, nose, chin, forehead, and cheeks. Remove the cream gently with tissue pads.
- Toning
Toning restores the pH balance of your skin and helps to firm your tissue. Apply a toner on your face after cleaning it, with a cotton ball.
- Moisturizing
This is particularly important during winters especially for those who have a dry skin. However, moisturizing is important for everyone regardless of what skin type they possess.
