Natural Deodorants
Whether it is a room lit with aroma candles or a bag full of dirty laundry, smell has the power to turn you on or put you off instantly. In fact, smell is one of the strongest senses that human beings possess. Smell is a potential captivator, so it is only natural to be self-conscious if you suffer from bad odor due to sweating. Using a deodorant is both advisable and inevitable to save yourself from embarrassing situations.
Interestingly, did you know that your sweat is odorless? It's strange, but true. The odor is contributed by bacteria which multiply in our sweat. But wait a minute-succumbing to despair is not the solution; availing good natural deodorants is a better choice instead!
Most of the deodorants flooding the stores these days have high chemical compositions and are potentially dangerous for health. So switching to natural deodorants is a smart and sensible move!
You can try some homemade natural deodorant recipes by using ingredients that are easily available at home. Try the following natural antiperspirants:
Homemade Natural Deodorant Recipes
- You can make a basic natural deodorant by using 2 tablespoons of zinc-oxide powder and 2/3 cup witch-hazel extract. Mix and stir the ingredients in a bowl and then add 2 tablespoons of aloe-vera juice along with 30-40 drops of essential oils. Store in a spray bottle after mixing it well.
- For daily use, mix 2 tablespoons of zinc-oxide powder and 2/3 cup witch-hazel extract. Add 2 tablespoons of aloe-vera juice and use 30 drops rose-geranium essential oil. The rose geranium slows down the production of odor-causing bacteria.
- If you have sensitive skin, add 30 drops of Calendula and 10 drops of Lavender oil to the mixture of powdered zinc-oxide, witch-hazel extract and aloe vera juice. Calendula and lavender oils fight the bacteria production and restrict odor.
- For those suffering from excessive sweat problems, pour 30 drops of Sage oil into a mixture of powdered zinc-oxide, witch-hazel extract and aloe vera juice. Sage oil restricts sweat-gland activity. Being an antiseptic and astringent it tightens pore size gently.
Applying Natural Deodorants
- Before applying a natural deodorant wash your armpits carefully.
- Dry them well using a soft, dry towel.
- Spray the deodorant over the skin from a distance several times to moisten it.
- Let it dry before your body comes in contact with your clothing.
