Chair Massage
Chair Massage is a special type of massage which is performed with the recipient sitting erect on a chair. He may be seated on the ground too. Chair massage is different from conventional massage in which the latter is performed on a massaging table. In the Chair Massage procedure, the recipient is seated erect on a chair and leans against a cushion that rests on a table. The therapist massages him with calculated and rigorous strokes.
Why Chair Massage?
Chair Massages are recommended for people who have problems getting on and off a conventional massage table. The recipient feels more comfortable seated on a chair while being attended to by the therapist. The Chair Massage is again preferred as some muscles are easily accessible in this position compared to the conventional massaging on a massaging table. It has been observed that the cervical and shoulder regions can be stretched more in this position.
