If you desire to camouflage the flaws of your skin then you know what to do - apply concealers. However, apart from selecting the right kind of concealer for your skin, you also need to know the right application technique. Or else you won't get the desired effect. While you buy a concealer, make sure that it is a shade lighter than your skin complexion. It is the various shades of brown that suits all skin.

Various Types of Concealers:


  • Liquid form concealers – It is best suited for dry skin type. It is usually applied in areas under the eyes.
  • Solid form concealers- To hide scars and pimples, it is definitely the best.
  • Cream form concealer - It is well suited for dry skin and is usually applied in areas near the eye.

Concealer Application Technique:

  • At first apply a moisturizer on your skin that is less on oil content.
  • Apply the concealer on the center portion of the area of your skin, which you want to hide. Then proceed towards the outer side with the help of a sponge.
  • Allow the concealer to set and this may take 10 or 15 minutes.
  • Apply translucent powder and allow it to set, it would take just 2 minutes.

Tips on Using Concealer:

  • Conncealer needs to be of lighter shade than the foundation.
  • While applying concealer, never rub or drag, always tap it on the skin.
  • Avoid applying less than three coats of concealer at a particular time.
  • Always pick up a yellow shade concealer to hide your acne.
  • Apply your concealer, after you have applied foundation.
  • For summers, always choose a dark shade of concealer, so that your skin doesn't get burnt.
