Who seems to be interested in the Japanese form of fashion? The Japanese fashion designers, though less in number, yet have already made their mark in the fashion fraternity. People would be interested to read about the creations of these famous Japanese fashion designers.

There has been a massive change in the social and cultural scenario in Japan post World War II. Previously the country had been famous for its conservative mindset and always preferred to follow the traditional norms. But of late, they have gathered the varied ideas sweeping in from overseas and have been experimenting with the global fashion ideas and tasting innovation.

1. Amongst the many fashion designers who managed to create a ripple on a global scale is Rei Kawakubo. He is the man behind Commes des Gracons. She was an untrained fashion designer who mastered the art of working together with pattern makers for establishing her name in the fashion circle. The boutique formed by her has gained world repute from a host of fashion critics.

2. Another name who has made it formidable in the Japanese fashion fraternity is Junya Watanabe. The fashion designer has originally worked as a pattern maker for Comme des Garcons but later on he came out with his own label in 1992. He has always been famous for promoting the avant-garde style. His innovative creations have been well liked for across the globe.

3. The other fashion designer in Japan who has created style statements in a unique manner is Limi Yamamoto. She happens to be the second generation fashion designer and pioneered a fashion tycoon named Yohji. She is known to stick to black, white and navy colors.

4. The other name who requires a must mention is Ritsuko Shirahama. Being in the business of fashion designing right from 1984, she launched her own label. She boasts of more than fifty retail outlets in around ten countries. This is quite an achievement for her. Her creations include knit dresses, 3d graphic tops, bomber jackets and long ribbed jackets.

5. Tao is another top name in the fashion world in Japan. She has been creative in creating feminine and playful clothing lines. The attitude in all her creations has always been romantic and bears a personal touch.

6. Jun Takahashi should get a last mention. Jun had created the foundation for the Japanese giant label ‘Undercover’. It started off just as a small venture partnership between Jun Takahashi and her classmate but now has created a storm around the globe.
