An Asian diet comprises mainly vegetables and grains. It includes lots of cereals and vegetables. A traditional diet is always based on the climate and a traditional Asian diet is ideal for the Asian climate. It is said by the scientists that it prevents many serious diseases and keep anybody healthy and fit. Thus their life span is much longer than that of the western people. However diet and food habit is becoming more global. So many fast foods have replaced traditional food and the people have become interested to pizzas and burgers instead of rice and chapattis. Nevertheless an Asian who strictly follows his traditional diet could stay healthy and fit for a long time.

Nutritional fact of Asian diet


A balanced traditional Asian diet includes a plenty of vitamins, carbohydrate, fat, fibers and antioxidants. Thus overall it is highly nutritious. Fresh green vegetables are largely included in this diet.

Moreover, grains of various types including rice, noodles, corn and millets are inseparable part of the Asian day today diet. Fishes and dairy products are also consumed regularly by the people of this part. Some of the main features are as follows:

  • Tea is the inseparable part of Asian diet. It works as a strong oxidant. Tea is said to prevent many serious diseases.

  • Most of the Asian foods are enriched with high fiber which again has so many health benefits. It controls weight and prevents many diseases including constipation.

Asian breakfast


Most of the Asians start their day with a black or green tea. Especially in China and Japan, green tea is very popular. In breakfast they generally eat miso soup or any soup made with grains. Sometimes they complete their breakfast with some rice and boiled vegetables. Most of the Asia people are very fond of fruits and they include one or two seasonal fruits in their breakfast.

Asian lunch


Asian lunch is complete with a bowl of noodles or rice along with a fish curry and vegetables. Fish is a must in any Asian lunch. Various vegetable preparations are also made by the people of this region.

Asian dinner


The favorite dinner items of the Asians are as follows:

  • Miso soup
  • Tofu
  • Boiled vegetables including broccoli and cabbages
  • Baked or boiled fishes
