An arthritis diet is recommended by the doctors for the people suffering from chronic arthritis disease. Actually there is no as such connection of arthritis with food. However patients of this disease are always suggested to control the weight. Thus they must need a low calorie diet. Moreover nutrition is another important factor. So they should follow a low fat and healthy diet. Let’s pep into some of the foods containing low calorie and high nutrition.
Foods that lessen arthritis pain
Although there are many opinions about the diets for the arthritis patients; however following types are always suggested to include in their meals.
Fruits containing Vitamin E. Various fruits including apples and bananas are enriched with vitamin E. Vitamin E is found in blackberries. Also in various nuts including Brazil nuts, peanuts, almond contain Vitamin E. It is also found in sunflower seeds.
Oily fishes. This type includes salmon, tuna, sardine and shrimps. These fishes prove to be very beneficial for the patients of arthritis. Cod-liver oil can also be taken as a supplementary food.
Ginger –Ginger is said to be very helpful in reducing the arthritis pain. You can take some ginger slices every morning along with salt.
Turmeric –People suffering with chronic arthritis disease can also take turmeric paste or dust mixed with hot milk. Regular intake of this fluid helps reduce the pain.
Foods that increase arthritis pain
Vegetables – Some vegetables including potato, tomato, and capsicum should be avoided by the arthritis patients. They might increase the pain.
Dairy products – They also suggested not taking dairy products in excessive amount. Although they can take hot toned milk in their lunch and dinner.
Breakfast idea for arthritis patients
As these patients should go for the low calorie foods, they must include protein, a little fat and carbohydrate in their breakfast. They must take cereals with almonds or any kind of nut. It contains low calorie however the food is very healthy. Fruits like apples, bananas should also be there. They can end up with a glass of toned hot milk.
Lunch idea for arthritis patients
They can include one or two pieces of oily fishes, baked or fried. However, baked fishes would be better. Boiled chicken with two or three slices of brown breads along with salad would be an ideal lunch menu for the arthritis patient.
Dinner idea for the arthritis patients
Soups should be included in the dinner. Chicken or vegetable soup with boiled vegetables like cabbages and carrots can be taken.
