ADHD diet is the acronym for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. ADHD is a mental condition which is generally diagnosed during the childhood. The symptoms of ADHD are noticed usually before 7 years of age.

What causes ADHD?


The cause of ADHD really not known. Many people believe that it happens due to a chemical imbalance in the brain, the resultant factor of environmental or genetic factors

The environmental factors causing ADHD


  • Toxin exposure during pregnancy
  • Food additives
  • Allergies
  • Sugar
  • Caffeine
  • Food coloring
Have you ever thought how does sugar affect a child’s behavior? No studies have been able to prove that refined sugar affects behavioral aspect of a child. Caffeine has its negative impacts on different people. Others have the capacity to develop a tolerance level for caffeine than others. It is always recommended that a child should not consume caffeinated drinks like Coke, Pepsi or other "energy" drinks.

How will an ADHD diet make a difference?


It is seen that a handful of children will be responsive to a diet which is free of additives. But make sure that an ADHD child should eat 2 fish meals every week.
