Types of nail problems


Nail Discoloration:

This is one of the common nail problem that people of every age undergoes. The term discoloration is used because the nail loses its natural color and turn yellow, green, blue, red or purple. However, is not necessary that your entire nail will suffer from this problem. Only a part will suffer. Poor blood circulation is the sole reason that of nail discoloration. Sometimes, trauma also leads to poor blood circulation resulting blood getting trapped between different layers of nail and causing discoloration.

Egg shell Nails:

The shell of an egg tends to be so fragile that with slight pressure it ends up breaking. When your nail undergoes similar situation, it is called egg shell nail. The texture of nail becomes so fragile that little bit of pressure breaks the end. Naturally, nails tends to be fragile and thin and when they grow it takes curved position on tip instead of growing straight.
Thus is prone to breaking. Improper diet and stress is one of the main causes of egg shell nail. Vitamins and minerals play a key role in healthy growing of nails. Poor nutrition becomes a barrier to healthy nail growth.

Ingrown Nails:

This is another nail problem that mostly affects the toe nail. These are those nails that grow on sides of nail skin. Thus, the nail grows on side, but remains same on tip. The factors that contribute to this irritating nail problem are improper nail filing and cutting techniques. Ill fitting foot wear makes the condition favorable for ingrown nails that presses the nail against foot. Sudden and serious injury around nail region can cause in grown nails.

These are some of the common nail problems that affects people in every day life. But with proper care and maintaining some hygienic habits these nail problems can be avoided. For example while washing and cleaning, use a good quality hand gloves to protect your nails and hand. Trim your nails at regular intervals and see how your nail grows in a healthy way.
