Manicure at Home



Manicure treatment is mainly a superficial beauty treatment of hands and nails. The term “manicure” comes from Latin words “manus” and “cura”. Manus means hands and cura means care.

This treatment generally conducted by the beauty salons though can be performed at home. The procedure includes massage and proper treatments of cuticles, fine shaping and polishing of the edges and overall massages.

It is said that manicuring had an important role in world cosmetic history. Aristocrat women used so many herbal or plant extracts for manicuring. Later French manicuring which originated in Paris became very popular all over the world. Of late manicuring is a must for every fashionable woman and actually the treatment not only makes your nails attractive but also makes them soft and healthy.

Perhaps French manicure treatment was instigated in Paris in the 18th century and started gaining popularity in early ninety’s and until now it is the most popular form of manicure all across the world. The main characteristic lies in its polishing method. In this method a special type of white finger paint is applied to the nail tips after a proper cleaning and trimming. When the white coat becomes dry, a light pinkish coat is applied to the rest of the nails. When the whole process ends, you get a set of very soft and gently shining nails. French manicuring goes best with the nails with short length.

If you feel it much costlier and difficult to afford then you can also try out some simple methods for manicure at home. There are some easy procedures which you can easily apply at your home. One simple procedure is given below:

Essential items- Nail remover, Warm water, nail clippers, nail file, scissors, cuticle remover, brush, cuticle cream, color polish, nail bindi

Procedure-

Take out your old nail polish with the nail remover and then clean the hands and nails with warm water. After that shape and trim your nails with the help of the manicuring accessories such as scissors, nail clippers, and nail file. Massage your nails with the cuticle massage cream. After the competition of massage, soak your hands again on lukewarm water for at least two minutes. After that brush the cuticles with a soft brush and apply cuticle remover cream. Leave it for two minutes and then trim down all the dead skin from that part with the use of an exfoliating cream. At the end you can apply a few drops of lemon juice on your nails to make them glowing. The whole process should be done this way. After the completion of the whole process you can decorate your nails with nail polishes or various nail bindis. The choice is yours.

You can always use olive oil or any herbal oil instead of any chemical creams, lotions or gels.
