Hair Fall Due To Perming

Who after all doesn’t want a hair which is healthy, shiny and thick? It augments your beauty at any point of time. It is advisable not to put your hair through extreme chemical treatments – that might weaken even the strongest of hair. Keep in mind that you cannot get back the original health of the hair which already got damaged. Thus, avoid hair fall due to perming. So, it is better to prevent the hair from such harsh treatments like perming which sometimes is the main cause of hair fall. Therefore, before going to a beauty parlor for a hair perm, make sure you think twice. The things that can help you get back the original sheen of the hair are protein treatments and deep conditioning treatments but that too would take too much of time.

If you have opted for a permanent perm, it might cause permanent damage to your hair. It is better to go for temporary curls. The other option is to crimp your hair at home, though it won’t give a permed effect but surely will add variation to your hair style.

  • Shampoo causes breakage of the hair if used soon after perming the hair. Taking care of the hair after perming the hair is very essential.
  • It is advised that you use deep conditioning treatment once in a week for keeping your hair in good health.

There are 2 types of perming solutions

  • Alkaline based – It is stronger and gives tight long lasting curls.
  • Acid based – It is milder and gives soft perms coupled with volume and bounce. This one is the best for thin and delicate hair.
It depends entirely on the type of hair that you have as to which perming solution you should choose. First make sure you discuss the hair problems that you have with your hair dresser and then go for a perming. The perming chemicals go through the hair shaft and break the bonds of hair.

Neutralizer helps in storing the pH balance of the hair – which naturally gets lost due to the chemical application while perming. Do not go in for a sudden change in temperature soon after a perming session.
