The French fashion designers are known for the eye to subtle beauty and today they are known for setting the trends in fashion for every upcoming fashion season.

The reason why French fashion designers are still holding the number one position is because for the eye of detail with every design that they present. Chanel:

Coco Chanel, as she is known to the rest of world is first rated fashion designer of France. She started her shop in Paris in1913 by selling ladies hat. But gradually she decided to try her luck in fashion world and yes she became successful. Her designs were simple and elegant something that women loved. The designs of her dress emphasized on comfort, rather than style. This unconventional approach to designs made her a huge hit. But Coco Chanel best known for her perfume Chanel No. 5. Today, the perfume is so popular that in every thirty seconds one bottle is sold. Chanel No. 5 was favorite perfume among most of the Hollywood celebrities. In fact, many of them also became models for promoting this perfume. From Marilyn Monroe to Audrey Tatou Chanel 5 is endorsed by them. The little black dress that she designed is one of the versatile design that world ever saw.

Christian Dior:

Another popular French fashion designer was Christian Dior, whose line of collection is launched under Christian Dior Fashion House. The first collection of Dior was premiered in the year 1974 and within next two years he established his own fashion house. The design of Christian Dior carried an innovative look that asked the fashion industry to think in a different way. Today, Christian Dior fashion house is one of the leading fashion houses of Paris.

Jean Paul Gaultier:

Though he is known as one of the leading French designers, he was once famous television presenter. This French designer never received any formal training. But he spent his early lives by providing sketches to different Haute Couture houses when another famous designer Pierre Cardin asked him to work as his assistant in the year 1970. After working with Pierre Cardin for more than five years, Gaultier launched is first individual collection in 1976. Gaultier caused shocked fashion world as he presented his collection with unconventional models like full figured women, older men, tattoo and heavily pierced models. This attitude earned huge popularity and criticisms. In 2005 he launched his own set of unisex perfume that turned to be very popular.
