The Western fashion in 2000 saw 1990 anti-fashion that was very popular through out this time period. Though, the period had some considerable changes as well. For example, in early 2000 heavy metal fashion was a popular style by teenagers. Thus, the pop punk fashion came back like baggy jeans, spiked hair, wristbands, branded sunglasses returned and dominated in the first half of 2000 in Western fashion. In mid 2000, the Western fashion saw the emergence of gel bracelets though its popularity was short lived. Enter low rise skinny fit jeans with low waist line jeans. This was followed by mini-skirts and hip hugging denim. The style was quite popular both among young men and women. Similar to this styles wrap around and skin hugging skirts lost its popularity. Boot cut jeans and flare made entry with the help of renowned brands like Diesel, mankind, True Religion, Rock & Republic. In terms of accessories also few things were added like designer glasses with thick rims continued till the end of 2000. Enter the late 2000 with the return of leggings of women. It was teamed with long but body hugging tunics or similar kind of baby doll dresses with empire waists. The leggings were very popular in 1980′s that were teamed with mini skirts. The colors that dominated in western fashion during this period was mustard yellow and purple. The flat ballerina shoes returned replacing the pointed heel shoes. The trends of boots returned with variety of sizes. The clothes were highly dominated by green movement and the use of natural color for fabrics were prioritized.
