It has been seen that the Russians have always invaded the fashion strata. More specifically, it has been the Russian fashion designers who have been always on their toes to show off the creativity. A lot of Russian fashion designers are planning to make a dent in the U.S. fashion shows at the Miami Fashion Week. There are others who have plans to showcase their collections at the New York Fashion Week in September and then make their mark in the Los Angeles after a year.
Elements of Russian fashion
Previously, Russia was among those who were wearing shapeless creations and ill-fitted polyester shirts. It was the collapse of communism which gave free rein to Russians’ traditional creativity and they started loving adorning themselves. After all who doesn’t love to decorate themselves? It is Italy and Russia who have a similar mentality to decorate themselves. It has been noticed that a small number of Russian fashion designers have already made their mark in the fashion fraternity.
Russian fashion week – also became popular. Alexander Shumsky, the organizer of Russian Fashion Week, commented that Russian designers should more focus on the upcoming domestic market. It has been the trend among Russian designers that they focus more on haute couture instead of less sensational but more profitable ready-to-wear lines. The main point is that they have understood that fashion is a business and not only an art. The main element of Russian fashion is that Russians love to spend on luxury goods like branded clothes and footwear.
