The era of 60′s came to an end and began the fashion era of 70′s. The dominating trends of fashion trends of 70′s were mini skirts and big floral prints. The shirts came with big collars and trousers flared. The formal wear for men during 70′s was suit with kipper tie. These are bits and pictures of 70′s fashion.

The Trend of 70′s

The fashion trend of 70′s was an amalgamation of different influences and styles. The hippy style dominated 60′s fashion trend, thus it was quite obvious that the fashion trends of 70′s will have some influence of hippy. Certain environmental issues and strong ethic influences dominated them. The fashion of men took an interesting turn. It adopted some the styles and cuts that used to be considered as fully feminine look. Shirts came in tight fitting and the collars patterned in bright floral prints. The era of 70′s also saw a trend or fetish for unisex clothes. Thus, jeans was quite popular both among men and women as daily wear.

The Skirts of 70′s

Mini skirt was quite a dominating trend in 60′s. The trend continued but midi and maxi skirts gave mini skirts a tough competition. Ultra short shorts, hot pants were used as different kinds of theme. Hot pants were combined with different kinds of long socks either with solid colors or floral or geometrical patterns. Other than long skirts, the 70′s were still nostalgic about the hippy era. Thus long dresses with floral pattern or paisley was very popular.

The Shoe’s and flare trouser of 70′s

Flared trousers with platform soles was the major dominating fashion trend during 70′s. Flare trousers were inspired from hippy fashion and both men and women wore them. The cut of the flare ended in knee, but it reached in an exaggerating position in middle of 70′s. The trousers followed hipsters patterns and sits on hips instead of waist and was skin tight. On the other hand, shoes with platform soles was craze among women. But, doctors issued health warnings that could affect life later on. Thus, the fashion failed to last for long time. This may be either due to doctor’s warning or due to inconvenience caused. Most of the shoes came in bright colors.

The fashion of late 70′s

fashion trends come and go. Thus, lets check out what are the fashion trends that lasted even at the end of 70′s. Flares was the most dominating style statement. Along with flares denim, cheesecloth shirts was the staple fashion statement. The late 70′s also experienced the upcoming of punks and punk fashion became quite popular. The punk culture reflected denial of aspects that were considered of good taste. Spiked hair with bright odd colors along with black shiny leather jackets conveyed the message to the onlookers that they believe in destruction of norms, rules and regulation. Thus, the end of 70′s saw a beginning of new era.
