The 1960′s fashion came up with various styles and trends. The fashion entirely depended on the political scenario of the time. This era of fashion witnessed the upcoming style of box-shaped PVC attires. It also saw the culottes and go-go boots. Last but not the least, it was in 1963 that the bikini came into fashion. Once it was featured in the musical Beach Party, the fashion became a vogue. There were various designers who came up with bold styles. Yes, bold, because during those decades your previous generation was conservative about clothes. This trend was broken with the introduction of mini-skirts. This was a creation of Mary Quant. School girls, college going young adults and adults started wearing mini-skirts. How many of you remember the name Jackie Kennedy? No This Kennedy is not who you are thinking of. Jackie Kennedy introduced French manicure and false eyelashes to the market. These still remain in fashion.
Pillbox hats became very popular during this period. Again, women loved green and blue shimmering eye shadows to pair with false eyelashes. It was surely an era of fun and frolic. An era of various hair styles and hair lengths. More than accessories, colors were very important Many would wear bright and colorful attires. Psychedelic prints, mismatched patterns and highlighters brought about a new trend. The hippie movement had a great impression on the fashion industry. The bell-bottom jeans, batik fabrics, tie-die and paisley prints became a rage.
1960′s fashion mini skirt
The name behind it is Mary Quant. 1960′s became the age of the youth. The fashion made young age very prominent. It was a time of radical fashion changes and bold styles. The baby doll look came in vogue.
Pleated skirts in early 1960′s fashion
The early 1960′s witnessed the pleated skirts on hip yoke basque. This was worn with sleeveless or short sleeves blouses which were very different from the regular shell tops now. These skirts were easy to wear and a definite advantage for twist dance.

They would also go for the Mod shirts, form fitted, and jackets that would be paired with drainpipe pants. The hipster was a craze that did made the waistline particularly thin. The buffalo plaid shirts, popular among hippies were favorites of all the fathers of the time.
