Be it decades older, the young generation always bore a particular trend of fashion. Even in the 1950′s, people were trendy with various kinds of fashion fads. We cannot call it fads always as these keep coming back and forth in time. Fashion revives and those which do becomes immortal.

1950′s Fashion Leather Jackets

Teenage boys craved for leather jackets in the 1950′s. They would wear leather as girls were also very fond of men who would adorn such attire. The black leather jacket collars looked happening. These jackets would be worth some pounds. They were expensive. However, it was so much of a craze that the boys would stick to their favorite leather jackets and hair brushes.

Skirts a 1950′s fashion

The poodle skirts were extremely popular. Young girls and teenagers would go for the poodle skirts. He wide swing and the fabric made it a very comfortable yet trendy wear. Women would die for it. Every wardrobe possessed this attire.

Pencil Skirts in the 1950′s

The pencil skirts were a style among the adults, especially the office goers. Business women wore trendy pencil skirts which looked gorgeous too. These skirts look sexy and fashionable. Men looked up to those who would cautiously wear the pencil skirts, a show off of the time.

1950′s Hairstyles

Soft curls were the in thing. Long style came much later. Women would tie heir hair up in ponytails with a pink chiffon scarf tied around it. The style was more conservative and neat. One had to look neat and presentable. In the absence of blow driers hair gels were used to keep the hair style intact. Pin curls and rollers helped the women to curl their hair. As poodles were a frenzy, it spread into the hairstyles as well. Poodle cut became very popular among stylish women. It looked funny but that was the trend of the time. Ducktail was another popular hair cut referred to as DA. Hair had to be well greased and sprayed for maintenance.

Shoes in the 1950′s

Saddle shoe is the word. Yes, it was the height of fashion in the 1950′s. All the preppy girls craved for saddles and wore those too. These shoes are not available anymore but we wish it came back. The shoes were stiff and heavy but they were great. Though they were black and white in color, the saddle shoes resembled todays sneakers. Stiletto heel was also in vogue. Hey looked like dancing shoes but they were extremely pretty. You would crave for such shoes even today. The ballet slippers were popular as well. A pair of ballet slippers worn with cute white socks were the trend of the time.

1950′s Fashion Dresses

Tailored and groomed would be the talk of the town. Conservative yet stylish was the trend of the 1950′s. Ladies wore gloves and heels which would complete their attire.
