Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT)

The NIIFT was established in the year 1995 at Mohali to create learned individuals ready to lend their expertise to the fashion industry. The garment industry of Punjab in particular has significantly benefited from the services offered by NIIFT. The governing Council mediates all the functions of the institute. Its members consist of government officials, industrialists and renowned celebrities.

The institute offers the facilities of a fully equipped computer center to all its students. Many of the software packages used in the institute are developed in-house. It has a state-of-the-art studio and laboratory facilitating garment designing and manufacture, pattern making and draping. A large collection of informative books and journals are provided by NIIFT's library to enhance the knowledge of each student.

Apart from this, the North Indian Institute of Fashion Technology has excellent hostels for the accommodation of outstation girl students. Located in the institute campus in Mohali, the hostel provides all the basic amenities to its residents at a very reasonable rate. Bus services are additionally provided to the students at a very nominal monthly charge.
