National Institute of Fashion Technology

National Institute of Fashion Technology, was established in the year 1986 under the supervision of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It has centers in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Chennai and Raebarelli.

NIFT offers courses on fashion that are meant to enhance the knowledge of candidates who aspire to carve a niche for themselves in the fashion industry. NIFT has always emphasized that there is a tremendous potential in the Indian fashion industry. It provides a platform where students come together, interact and learn the technical know-how's that would provide them a prosperous future in the fashion industry.

Ritu Beri was the first Asian to head the French fashion house Scherrer while, J.J.Valaya was the first Indian student to receive the Prix D'Or Incitation at the Young Designers International Competition, in Paris Today, NIFT is regarded as one of the most prestigious fashion institutions in the world.
