National Institute of Design




The National Institute of Design (NID) provides the technical know-how and expertise in the field of designing to aspiring designers. This multi-disciplinary institution has been listed as among the top 25 Asian and European programs in the globe. Functioning as an autonomous body, NID is duly recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR). It is the second institution to have specialized in industrial design education. It has successfully created and delivered industry-ready individuals for the social, industrial and commercial sectors.

A student placement cell is provided by the institution to aid aspiring NID graduates. It fosters an environment where prospective employers can have a direct interaction with the students and recruit individuals who they feel match up to their desired employee profile. A usual procedure is followed where interested companies come down to the campus and present their company profile, the various needs regarding recruitment and pay packages offered. This is known as the 'pre-placement talks'. Interviews usually follow after the pre-placement talks and students are selected according to their eligibility and performance.
