Moscow Fashion Week

The concept or the idea of Moscow Fashion Week is fully based on the organization of Fashion Week in London, Paris, Milan and New York. Moscow Fashion Week is sole fashion event in entire Russia which was included in Europe's catalog schedule.

Generally, fashion weeks are organized in order to support numerous daily shows from different designers. This in turn attracts journalists not only from local media, but also from national and international arena. The designers unveil their designs and simultaneously the designs are also exhibited in renowned showroom. Thus, fashion week attracts prospective buyers, fabric producers, accessories makers and numerous other representatives of fashion industries. All these gatherings turns into successful business meetings so that contracts are signed among the designers and the respective representatives. The Moscow Fashion Week are organized with all these motto and aims. It is said that this fashion week will help a lot in giving an identity to Russian fashion, across the universe.

Moscow Fashion Week started in the year 1994 and till then the designs unveiled in the shows reflected the creativity and innovative ideas of the designer who participated. Like in 2008/2009 Autumn/Winter collection designers worked in pair. This paired working inspired them and they were lighted up the idea. The designers worked with black and white dresses and matched those dresses with several colored fabrics. This collection had a small and simple aim. It tried to prove the fact actually, there are no distinct and clear distinction between age old controversial concepts like life and eternity, yes and no, man and woman. The differences are only concealed with intricate details like colors and trimming. For example, the difference between jazz and classic is defined by designing the concept of classical music with piano on black short dress, while the concept of jazz is designed with jazz guitar on cream colored short dress. The fabrics used in making these pair of dresses are designer fabrics, real silk, fine jersey cloth.

The Fall Winter 2008/2009 collection of Moscow Fashion Week was very dramatic. The designs of Valentine Yudashkin was appreciated by one and all. This designer designed the clothes in such a way so that the one could wear the dresses any place on earth. The pret-a-porter collection by this same designer was received with lot of appreciation form the guests. Yudashkin concentrated on creating a Neo-Gothic look and was entirely successful.
