Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is organized in New York City. It is a semiannual event which is recently branded by New York Fashion Week. In fashion world this is considered as one of the biggest events. Among four major fashion weeks, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is one of the important names. The Spring 2009 Fashion Week was organized from 5th September to 12th September 2008. Numerous reputed designers participated in the show and made it a success. In February, the Fall 2009 Fashion Week was taken place. From 13th to 20th February 2009 the grand fashion show displayed various luxurious collections.
History of New York Fashion Week
The history of New York Fashion Week shows various aspects of fashion world. The first fashion week in New York was known as Press Week. It was first fashion week which was organized any where in the world. The event was organized in 1943 and the main purpose was to attract the entire world’s attention towards New York Fashion. During 2nd World War, the fashion industry insiders were not being able to visit Paris to observe French fashion shows. An event was introduced in the name of “Press Week” to display the collections of American designers. It got success in the very first show and the success was reflected in the fashion magazines like Vogue. They started to cover American fashion instead of French designs.
Mercedes-Benz Fall Fashion Week 2009
The Fall 2009 fashion week earned good praise. Different designers came in the attention of the buyers. Some designers displayed their usual Bryant Park tent fashion shows. The designers who made such decisions were Betsey Johnson, Vera Wang, Carmen Marc Valvo. The collections were all fantastic. Buyers were greatly influenced by the show.
