About Australian fashion week
- The event was introduced in 1995. Simon Lock, the CEO and the founder of Australian fashion week was the main person behind it.
- Formerly the show was known as Mercedes Australian Fashion Week. Currently, it is popular as Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
- The spring/summer collections are displayed at the International Passenger Terminal Sydney’s Circular Quay.
- Usually during April or May month of every year, such shows take place. During September, the Trans-Seasonal collections are presented.
- In 2007, this event was held in Sydney. Before that, it was organized at Melbourne’s Kilda pier.

2009 Australian fashion week
- Natasha Silva-Jelly created exclusive designs for 2009 Australian fashion week. The trendy metallic designs reflected strong personality of the models. She offered harem pants, one shoulder dresses, crochet, cut way pieces, etc in her designs. Even, the designers included 40s silhouette and some exciting designs of 80′s in her collections.
- The entire fashion week was surrounded by bright colors. Fanta orange, cobalt blue, black, green, etc were hit during the show. Big shouldered tailored jackets were also noticed during the days. The Australian designer, Dion Lee was the main attraction in 2009. With his unique patterns, he gained fabulous round of applause.
