Amsterdam Fashion Week is an international event. It is also known as Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW). In fashion world, this is one of the most attractive fashion weeks. The entire world curiously waits for this fashion show. Actually, the fashion show was started in 2004. The major aim was to place Amsterdam on the map. Gradually, the area came into the eyes of everybody. People started to know Amsterdam. Today, it is one of the biggest destinations of fashion lovers. With a host of entertainment as well as excitement, every year the show is organized. Some of the attractive parts of the event include, trade fair, catwalk shows, presentation, parties, lectures and so on.
What happens in Amsterdam Fashion Week?
- The fashion week takes place for four to five days twice a year. Usually, professionals participate in the show. It is organized in former Gas Factories located in Amsterdam’s Westergas’ region.
- All experienced and young talents show their tremendous skill throughout the fashion show. Models and supermodels are observed with marvelous attitude. They come on the ramp and show their catwalk. The creators behind such models are expert fashion designers.
- In recent time, Amsterdam fashion week has been crowded with Dutch Fashion Designs. All prestigious guests join the show. The entire venue has been filled with buyers, celebrities, media persons and so on.
- Some of the essential parts of the fashion show are local museum, clubs, shops, galleries, etc. With a combination of all these aspects, the venue gets a royal atmosphere.
- In Amsterdam Fashion Show you will notice a mix up of commerce with creativity. All designs, cuts and prints of the designers are showcased mainly for commercial purposes.
- 2009 AIFW came up with a fabulous idea. Plein 13 was that innovative thought during that fashion show. The fashion week also focused on Ecoplein 13, the green fashion area. Some of the reputed fashion lines who participated in the show included, Merunisha Moonilal, Bionat, Supernana, LCC, Eco Couture and many more.
