Hugo Boss
Hugo Boss is a Germany based designer house founded by Hugo Ferdinand Boss in 1923. They were the official designers of the Nazi Schustzstaffel paramilitary forces during the World War II. They also designed the black uniforms for Heinrich Himmler's SS and the Hitler Youth uniforms. After the completion of the War, Hugo Boss came to be primarily associated with the sophisticated and suave line of Boss Black line of clothing.
There was, however, a change in profile brought about the introduction of the Boss Orange line. It was a sportswear, in direct contrast with the calm formalism of the Black Boss brand of outfits.
Presently, Hugo Boss has over 5000 retail stores in more than a 100 countries. The products are divided into three lines: Boss, Hugo and Baldessarini. Beldessarini GmbH came into existence in 2004, and targets a more prestigious line for a comparatively high-end clientele. The main sub-brands of Hugo that are popular now include:
- Boss Black Selection
- Boss Green
- Boss Orange
- Hugo
- Baldessarini
