Calvin Klein or Calvin Klein Inc. is a well known American fashion brand. The company was founded by Calvin Klein in the year 1968. This brand offers products like include designer jeans, inner wear, kids wear, and home line. Calvin Klein is currently owned by Phillips-Van Heusen.

History of Calvin Klein:

Calvin Klein was started off in the year 1968 as a small coat shop in New York City. The founder Klein started this business venture with only $10,000. The first Calvin Klein collection consisted of a line of men's and women's coats with which Klein shot to fame. He earned a big name for his collection of sportswear, classic blazers, lingerie, and women's wear, and in the year 1971, he was on the covers of Vogue fashion magazine.

Klein was awarded the Coty Award in the year 1973, and also for three consecutive years, for his 74-piece women's wear collection. In the year 1977, he gained licenses for fashion accessories like scarves, shoes, belts, furs, sunglasses, and sheets. In the following year, Calvin Klein launched its designer jeans in the market which became an instant hit. In the year 1980, Calvin Klein introduced a line of boxer shorts for women and a men's underwear collection. Calvin Klein's underwear was popularized by Mark Wahlberg.

After a series of financial losses and market distress, Calvin Klein was acquired by Phillips Van Heusen Corp in December, 2002.
