Armani




Armani is considered as one of top fashion labels of the world and is famous for its uniquely tailored garments which have made waves in the fashion industry. Its creator and fashion designer, Giorgio Armani, was born in the year 1934, in Italy. While working as a designer with Nino Cerruti, in 1970 he had a new idea of setting up his own free-lance design business. In this, he received significant encouragement and support from his close ally Sergio Galeotti, and together they launched their new company in 1975 in Milan. Giorgio Armani experimented with new and innovating designs which became very popular. In subsequent years, he also created a new fashion line for women too.

Armani Giorgio set specific standards and goals for his newly formed company. The Armani garments designed by Giorgio Armani earned immense popularity all over the world. He encouraged his designers to be innovative and creative. He recognized talent and even trained aspirants in fashion designing the tricks of the trade. Giorgio Armani received numerous awards during his lifetime and was also awarded an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art in London.

Today, the company has 300 stores and 13 factories spread over 36 companies. Giorgio Armani S.p.A., does not confine its business to apparels only, but has diversified into other products in categories that include fashion and home accessories, cosmetics, watches, perfumes and eyewear that are available worldwide under labels like Armani Collezioni, Armani Casa, Armani Junior and others a few of which are discussed below:
  • Armani Collezioni: This is a high end garment line and is targeted towards the ‘older customer' who prefers high quality classic garments over trendy ones.
  • Armani Exchange: Targeted at the young generation, it offers garments such as jeans, T-shirts and polos. Armani Exchange has over 50 international stores in the US and is the most affordable among other Armani collections.
  • Armani Casa: This ‘high end' home collection offers linens, lamps, furniture and dining accessories and is available at high end boutiques across the world.
  • Armani Cosmetics: These beauty products from Armani, which feature skin care products, colognes, perfumes and cosmetics are distributed by L'Oreal.
  • Armani Junior: This features clothing and accessories for young children, and is available at 15 high end boutiques worldwide.
  • Armani Jeans: This is a collection of denim related garments and is available at lower rates than other Armani collections. Their availability is not limited to freestanding stores and they are available at various department stores too.
