Miss International is ranked among the most popular beauty pageants of the world. Some of the participating nations for Miss International competition include Alaska Canada, France, Germany, Hawaii, India, Ireland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Russia, Scotland, Texas, and Washington. The 2007 Miss International pageant took place in Tokyo.
History of Miss International:
Miss International was founded in Long Beach, California, USA in the year 1960. Miss International beauty pageant was held in Japan for three consecutive years, 1968, 1969 and 1970. The international beauty pageant is organized with the aim of promoting friendship and goodwill among the countries in the world.
Scoring for Miss International Contest:
Scoring for the Miss International Beauty Pageant is simple if you know the different rounds in which a candidate is judged. You need to score at least 40% of overall score in the interview round. Interviews are usually conducted by 5 judges. Each contestant has to spend about 5 minutes with each judge. Candidates for the Miss International contest are also required to speak on themselves. Dress code for the Interview segment is business attire. During the fitness round, the candidates have to score at least 20% of the total score. In the evening gown round, you can wear an evening gown of your own choice. You will be judged on grace, poise and elegance in the Evening Wear. In the fun fashion round, you can wear a fashion wear of your choice, which must be approved by National office.
Rules for participating in Miss International Contest:
There are a set of rules for participating in the Miss International pageant.
- A Contestant must be at least 19 years of age and not older than 29 years of age by July 1st of competition year.
- The contestant for Miss International contest must be of good health and moral character.
- Contestant to participate in the contest must be single, never have been married, nor given birth to a child.
- Contestant must never have been convicted of any kind of criminal act.
- Contestant can not hold a “National” title, along with any other Pageant System, as of June 1st of competition year.
- If the candidate is vying for a state title, she must be a U.S. citizen. International contestants may represent the country they were born in or currently residing in.
- International contestants should posses a proof of birth or current citizenship of country she represents.
