Miss Asia Pacific International
The Miss Asia Pacific International contest was the first of its kind to be hosted and organized in Asia. The contest soon won international recognition as more countries from world over started participating in the contest. Presently, it has a network of 87 countries.
About Miss Asia Pacific International
What started out as the “Miss Asia Quest” contest back in 1968, today is viewed as one of the prestigious international beauty pageants. The contest had a humble beginning with 18 countries participating in the 1968 event. 1984 is a milestone in the history of the contest with the US, Canada and also countries of south and central America participating for the first time. The following year, the contest came to be known as the “Miss Asia Pacific Quest,” with 40 participating countries. In the year 2005 the number of participating counties had expanded to 53. Asia Pacific International is recognized as one of the oldest international beauty pageants to be hosted in the Asia Pacific region. The last event, the 36th international pageant was held in 2005 in Guangdong Province, China.
The governing body includes Alfonso V Lim Jr as the CEO and the Chairman. He is helped in the administrative front by the president of the contest Roberto De Venecia. The founder and director is Leandro D. Enriquez.
Miss Asia Pacific International winners
Macy Smith of China was the first winner of what was then the Miss Asia Quest contest, in 1968. the first person to hold the “Miss Asia Pacific Quest” title, in the year 1985; was Nuri Mizhari of Israel. Some of the recent winners of Miss Asia Pacific International are:
