There are three transparent structures in our eyes:
- cornea and sclera.
- choroid, ciliary body, and iris
- retina

As eyes are our vital organs, we need to protect them at any cost. Pollution, unhealthy life=style, too much stress on the eyes due to computer-based works, chemical reactions, different types of medications are some reasons behind ill health of eyes. To keep them healthy, we should follow some simple tips.
Eye Care Tips
Follow some easy to maintain eye care tips to maintain eye health. Some of them are:
- Consume lots of vitamins. Eggs, fish, milk, papaya, green vegetables should be included in daily diet.
- Splash cold water on eyes..
- Use sliced cucumber and potatoes to cure dark patch from the eye vicinity.
- Use amla water to wash eyes in the morning.
- Douse cotton in tepid milk and put them on eyes for sometimes.
- To relax your tired eyes, soak cotton pads in chilled milk and cover eyes with them.
- In case of eye irritation, or if the eyes become red, apply curd on scalp and massage.
- Too much computer work dry up the eyes. Consult an ophthalmologist to get a good eye solution. It will keep the eyes healthy.
- Wash your eyes vigorously before going to sleep; it will relax the eyes as well as the mind.
- Always read in sufficient lighting. Don’t strain your eyes with poor lighting.
- TV also should be watched in well-lit room
- Always use sunglasses while going out in sun. They will protect the eyes from UV rays.
- Cosmetics contact lenses should be avoided as much as possible. During sleeping they are a strict no-no.
- Remove eye make up while going to sleep.
Sometimes, eye damage happens without any signs. In such cases eyes start to lose vision and its health without any knowledge of the person. Remember if eye lose vision, it is near impossible to get back them fully. So, it is wise to consult ophthalmologist, if slightest discomfort persists in the eyes. Visit, ophthalmologist once in a while even if there is no eye problem. Our eyes are sophisticated enough to differentiate 10 million colors. Poor eye health is becoming a global phenomenon. Our consciousness will stop this trend.
