But as a guest to their wedding celebrations, what have you decided to wear so that you can be a part of grand event? Dressing for a wedding can be a sprain in the neck if you are not comfortable and familiar with the trends. There is no need to panic; you can obviously find solace in the fact that there are many like you sharing the same “dressing anxiety”.

Before dressing for a wedding:

There are certain things that you need to know before investing in gorgeous attires for attending a wedding ceremony. Check out the following information to help you decide your appearance for a wedding.
  • Look for certain clues in the invitation card. But, if you are in doubt it is best to go for a nice, casual outfit.
  • Consider the time of the year the wedding is taking place in. A summer wedding will definitely require you to wear different attire than a winter wedding.
  • If the wedding is conducted outdoors, you need to be careful about the wind messing up your dress or hairstyle.
  • Avoid getting into high heels, if you are not comfortable on sand and grass.

Women dressing for a wedding:

For an informal, day wedding, you can consider a short dress or suit. Opt for a cocktail dress for the evening. Hats and gloves are optional. Try not to go overboard with your dressing sense, as it will look like you are competing with the bride. Long gowns in pastel shades with minimal embroidery are a good choice if you can carry on with style and attitude.

Men dressing for a wedding:

Dressing in shirts and trousers is a good idea for the guys attending a wedding ceremony. Semi formal suits are also good choice. If the invitation states “black tie”, then consider wearing a tuxedo or dark suits for the evening. You can accessorize your look with a stylish watch.
