Revlon
Revlon is one of the oldest cosmetics brands in the international market. The name "Revlon" is derived from the names of the founders of this American cosmetic company, Charles and Joseph Revson, and Charles Lachman.
Revlon was founded in the year, 1932. It took a very short time for this cosmetic company to become one of the major cosmetic companies in the United States. It did not take long for Revlon to become an internationally known brand.
By the 1960s Revlon was an internationally sought after cosmetic brand, and was largely responsible for popularizing the "American look" to the rest of the world.
Revlon was a pioneer in more ways than one. This cosmetic giant introduced pigments instead of dyes for its nail color range. The effect was stunning, and the women were impressed-to put it very mildly. Revlon was innovative enough to launch its nail and lip makeup collections during the seasonal launches of clothing fashions.
Revlon brought makeup and style to the masses, by introducing the tremendously popular fragrance, Charlie, for the stylish, working woman. You may be surprised to know that the major brand Almay is also a part of Revlon. In the 1990s, Revlon introduced its range of transfer resistant, long-stay products under the Color Stay Collection. The transfer resistant lip color range gained huge popularity world wide.
Today, Revlon is a global name with franchises in 175 countries and territories of the world. Some of the popular product ranges from Revlon are ColorStay, Charlie, New Complexion, Revlon Age Defying, Ultima II, and Flex.
