Calamine Soap

For a condition like yours, soap containing anti-irritation ingredients would be very helpful. Such is Calamine soap. This natural soap is not easily found in the market, but when made at home, offers great results. Read on to know about the calamine soap recipe.

What you Need

  • A large bar of glycerin soap (transparent and unscented)
  • Glycerin
  • White Clay or other Cosmetic Clay
  • Calamine Lotion
  • Vitamin E Capsules
  • Caraway Essential Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Soap Molds

How to Prepare & Apply

  • Cut the soap bar into pieces or shred the bar; brush the inside of the molds with olive oil
  • In a small bowl, take about 2-3 tablespoons of glycerin, 1-1 ½ tablespoons of clay, 2-3 tablespoons of calamine lotion and stir to form a smooth paste.
  • To this add 20-25 drops of caraway oil and pierce around 4 capsules of Vitamin E to pour in the content into the solution. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are well blended.
  • If the mixture becomes too thick, add a little water.
  • Now, in another container, put the soap pieces and place it over low heat.
  • When the soap melts, pour in the glycerin mixture and whisk very well to form a sticky paste.
  • Pour the mixture into the mold and leave aside for 3-4 days until they harden.
  • Tap the molds from the back to take the soaps out and wrap in the soaps in plastic sheets to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air.
  • Apply the soap daily on wet skin during bath.
