Thread lift plastic surgery is a non invasive surgery that helps to smooth out wrinkles, fine lines and creases and makes you look many years younger. In thread lift surgery, a surgical thread is inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. The thread is then pulled to firm up the skin and get rid of wrinkles and folds.

Small incisions are made along the hair line. Fine needles attached to contour threads or barbed sutures are inserted through the incisions into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. The contour threads have tiny clogs attached to them. The thread is then pulled to firm up the skin and do away with the wrinkles and fine lines. A mirror is held up to the face so that the patient can direct the surgeon so as to achieve the desired appearance. A thread lift surgery can normally last up to seven years.

The tiny barbs fitted into the contour threads help to augment the formation of the natural collagen of the skin. This helps the facial skin to retain its new position.

Risks Involved in Thread Lift Plastic Surgery

The risks involved in thread lift surgery are minimal. Minor swellings and bruisings might occur in some cases. But these tend to disappear after a certain period of time. No facial scars occur while undergoing a thread lift. You should avoid strenuous exercise for about a week after the surgery. Too much movement of the facial muscles is also to be avoided in the area of the surgery.
