Nose Reduction Surgery
Nose reduction surgery are the perfect remedy for reshaping a protruded nose that is not symmetrical with the facial features. Some of the plastic surgeons also offer a combination of several surgical procedures like nose implants, nose reduction and nose reshaping to achieve the desired effect. Nose reduction surgery involves the application of lipoplasty and 'cut and stitch' method.
Process of Nose Reduction Surgery
There are two popular surgical methods for nose reduction surgery. Excess flesh from the nose is removed through a small vacuum. Small incisions are made on either side of the nose and the bone cartilage and nasal tissues are reshaped. In some cases, the tip of the cannula is used to reshape the nose.
The 'cut and stitch' method involves the reduction of the tip of the nose from the inside of the nostrils. Excessive tissue and flesh are sutured inside the nasal passage so as to hide the scars.
Some Facts about Nose Reduction Surgery
Nose reduction surgery is regarded as an invasive surgery and it is done only after the application of general anesthetic. It is not advisable for people suffering from sinus and dental problems to go for nose reduction surgery. Those with eye or ear infections should also avoid nose reduction surgery.
Recovery after nose reduction surgery is time consuming. Headaches and breathing problems are very common after nose reduction surgery.
Post Operation Risks
Swelling, bruising and crusting might occur for a week or two after the operation. But, these gradually disappear with time. You might also develop black and blue eyes after the operation as the under eye region absorbs excess blood and fluid after the operative process.
