Facial Liposuction
Facial liposuction is an effective surgical procedure to permanently remove excess fat from the face, neck and chin. It is a popular mode of cosmetic surgery that helps to get rid of diet resistant fat from the cheeks and the jowls. Facial liposuction is much in vogue for streamlining the facial contours and endow it with a symmetrical shape.
Facial Liposuction Procedure
In order to undergo facial liposuction you need to keep in good physical and mental health. You also need to have good skin elasticity. Local or general anesthetic is applied to the region to be treated. An incision is made along the jaw line. A small wand equipped with a vacuum is inserted into the incision and is moved back and forth. This is done to break the fatty deposits. The fat cells are then extracted by using a suction pump. The area is then stitched off. An elastic bandage is worn over the area that has been treated for the first 24 hours following the operation. The stitches on the face are removed five to ten days after the completion of the treatment.
Risks of Facial Liposuction
The face might be swollen for a couple of days. But it will gradually reduce with time. Other side effects include asymmetry, lumpiness and hematoma. Damage of facial nerves can occur in some rare cases.
