Epilation Treatment

Epilation treatment is the perfect answer to permanent hair removal. The process works best with hair that grows in the anagene phase. Epilation treatment is not a very good option for red or blonde hair. You need to go in for regular sessions for getting the full benefit of the epilation treatment. Epilation treatment is not advisable for children under 16 years of age.

Different Types of Epilation Treatment

Epilation treatment can be of different types. These are laser epilation, electroepilation, bioepilation and photoepilation.

Laser epilation involves permanent removal of unwanted hair through the application of laser beams. The laser beams target the melanin in the hair follicles. The melanin absorbs the laser light and changes it to heat which destroys the hair follicles. Laser epilation is not suitable for blonde or gray hair. It is also not good for colored or suntanned skin. You need to go in for three to five sessions to complete the process of laser epilation. One should also not take photo sensitizing medicines during the laser epilation treatment.

Electro epilation involves the insertion of a metal probe into the hair follicle. Electricity is provided through the probe which results in destruction of the hair shoot. The electro epilation session can last from 15minutes to an hour depending upon the area to be treated. Electro epilation process can sometimes be painful. So, local anesthetic is administered before starting on the process.

Bioepilation involves the usage of wax to remove unwanted hair. Waxing reduces hair growth. It should be remembered that waxing does not remove hair shorter than 5 mm. Soothing lotions and oils are applied over the area after the completion of the process.

Photoepilation is almost the same as laser epilation. It is specially equipped to remove blonde and light colored hair through the laser treatment process.

Epilation treatment is extremely useful for those who want to remove unwanted facial and body hair on a permanent basis.
