Calf Implant Surgery is a cosmetic surgical procedure that includes the placement of silicone beneath the skin and over the calf muscles in order to enhance its form. Nowadays it is usually performed with an intention of altering the shape of the lower legs on a permanent basis.

  • The surgery can be done under a local anesthetic.
  • Calf enhancement may take an hour or so to perform.
  • The incision is usually made on the medial (inner) side of the calf; then a silicone rubber implant is slipped over the muscles.
  • Professional body builders can also get implants done on both the medial and lateral (outer) side of the calves for getting a muscular appearance.
  • Depending on the implants, bandage may or may not be recommended.
