Cheek Implant Surgery
High cheekbones help to enhance and accentuate your beauty. Cheek implant surgery are perfectly suited for those who have sunken, hollow cheeks. The cheek implants helps you to improve your facial contour and have prominent cheekbones. Cheek implant surgery is the key to achieving a perfectly symmetrical look. Cheek implants permanently change the facial contours and help you to have well rounded cheeks.
Procedure of Cheek Implant Surgery
Cheek implant surgery can only be performed on those who are above 18 years of age. The operation usually lasts for 45 minutes to an hour. Solid or semi solid synthetic or silicone implants are used in cheek implant surgery.
Cheek implants of a proper shape and size are selected to suit the features of the patient. An incision is made under the eye or inside the mouth. A cavity is created in the facial tissue and the implant is placed inside it. The surface of the skin is then stitched.
Post Operative Care
Mild discomfort might occur after the operation. There is numbness in the cheek area and there might be difficulty in moving the facial muscles after the operation. You have to avoid rigid exercise or stressful activity for four to six weeks. You also cannot rub your skin harshly in the area of the implant for a couple of weeks. You have to be careful while brushing your teeth or chewing your food after the operation.
Risks of Cheek Implant Surgery
Displacement of the implants and infections might occur in a few cases. If the cheek implant is displaced you will need to undergo another surgery to correct the positioning. Infections can be controlled by taking antibiotics. Silicon implants might also cause allergic reactions in some people.
