Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty helps to permanently remove fluids and excessive fat from the upper eyelids. Blepharoplasty effectively gets rid of eye bags or pouches that have formed on the eyelids. It is however, unable to reduce wrinkles and crow's feet or perform an eyebrow lift. It is not advisable for people suffering from hypothyroidism , high blood pressure, diabetes and glaucoma to undergo blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty Procedure

Blepharoplasty is an excellent way of getting rid of puffy eyelids. A local anesthetic and intravenous sedatives are applied during the operation. An incision is made along the crease of the upper eyelid.

The skin is separated from the tissues beneath and excess fat is removed and the skin is sutured back. Swelling and bruising might occur after the operation. Sutures are removed a day or two after the surgery. You might experience light sensitivity and sticky eyelids.
