Courtsey to the celebrities who always look like Goddesses, beauty procedures have become household names. We now know names of procedures like-cosmetic surgeries, Botox treatment, Liposuction, tummy and butt tucking, breast augmentation surgeries and the like.

Botox
Botox is widely in use to treat fine lines and wrinkles that develop in your face with age. It is popular because the end results are compelling and quick. Botox is increasingly in use to remove creases from forehead, crow feet from the side of your eyes, reducing the laugh lines as well as on lips for fuller and youthful look. However, most people adopting this process are unaware that Botox is a derivative of highly toxic Botulism.

Botox is injected underneath the wrinkled skin to paralyze the muscles of the affected area and thus make the skin smoother. The downside of Botox treatment, however, is that its effects wear off within six to seven months, which means that you have to undergo the process over and over. Otherwise harmless, prolonged use of the toxin can cause some side effects in the long run.

Collagen treatment
As an alternative to the Botox treatment many people are adopting collagen treatment instead. The newly developed synthetic collagen is said not to have the side effects of the collagen that was used a decade ago. In the process, collagen, the most common protein in animal, is injected to the affected areas to cure furrow lines from the forehead and wrinkles. However, the most popular use of collagen is to plump up the lips to give it a more youthful look.

Just like Botox, collagen treatment also has to be repeated in every three to six months.

Microderm abrasion
Currently it is the most popular way to remove dead skin cells and give your skin a rejuvenated look. Microderm abrasion has become popular because it can also be done at the comfort of one’s home and one doesn’t always have to visit the physician’s office.

In Microderm abrasion, crystal is mixed with a cream and applied on the body to remove dead cells. It helps solving problems of pigmentation, dull-looking skin and as well as acne scars. It doesn’t have any ill side effects but at instances the crystals can cause redness or irritation.

Chemical peels
Chemical peel is used in removing layers of dead skin cells from the facial area. It is particularly helpful in solving problems of acne, pigmentation, blotchy skin and dull skin. During the process a diluted layer of acid is applied on the face. It is a quick process and the results can be seen almost immediately.

After the treatment some may face issues like scaly or pink skin though these will go with time. In rare cases there can be instances of severe burn too.

Muscle shock treatment
It is another form of non surgical beauty procedure. In the process mild shocks are applied to the muscles of the affected area to rebuild or plump it up. It is especially applied to areas around cheekbones, forehead and jaw line. As a benefit it rejuvenates the muscles of your face. Often it is an in-office treatment offered by cosmetic surgeons. But it is also now offered at various spas and health centres as well as it can be done at your home.

Tummy tuck
This process is applied to remove unwanted fat from your abdomen and give it a flatter appearance. The unwanted layers of fat are removed through surgery. Tummy tuck can also be used by women whose muscles have been stretched through several pregnancies or by one who has been obese at one point of time.

Cosmetic surgery
People who are more serious about changing their appearances may opt for cosmetic surgeries. It is the most serious of all the beauty procedures and requires experienced cosmetic surgeons. This is also the costliest of all the beauty procedures. The time for recovery is also the maximum. Cosmetic surgeons are now performing surgeries like- lips or nose corrective surgeries, facelift, breast augmentation, tummy tucking, labiaplasty or Vaginoplasty and such. If you are planning to undergo a plastic surgery you are advised to consult an experienced and seasoned surgeon before making the final decision.

The expenses of the aforementioned beauty procedures can range anything between couple of hundred dollars and thousands of dollars.
