Use of Aromatherapy Oils

The use of aromatherapy oils is numerous, you can use it for massage, put it into your bath water or inhale it through a diffuser. Aromatherapy oils can also be used for treating sunburns, cracked lips and other minor cuts.

Aromatherapy Oils in massage

You can mix together several essential oils (not more than four) and dilute them with carrier oils. For every drop of essential oils the amount of carrier oil required (in milliliter), is double the number of drops of essential oils.

Aromatherapy Oils in steam inhalation

Heat water and remove from heat just as bubbles begin to appear. Add a few drops of essential oils to the water and breathe in the vapors. You can also place a cover over your head for best results.

Aromatherapy Oils in bath

Just add a few drops of essential oils to your bath water. Use lukewarm water for this purpose and soak in it for a few minutes. This has a wonderful rejuvenating effect that drains out all your stress. You can also use it in the morning for a refreshing start to your day. It is suggested that you do not use more than 8 drops of essential oils.

Other uses of Aromatherapy Oils

  • Diluted with water essential aromatic oils can be sprayed as air freshener.
  • A few drops of essential oils if placed on the melted wax of a burning candle creates the effect of scented candles.
  • Place some lavender or rosemary oil on a towel. Now rub this on the back of your neck. This is an effective medicine for curing headaches.
  • Reuse your old potpourri, just add a few drops of essential oils to it.
