Spruce Oil

Spruce oil is used for relieving the effects of chronic joint and muscular aches. In aromatherapy, spruce oil is used to pacify the effects of stress and helps you to relax. The oil is also extensively used in perfumes, soaps and other toiletries.

There are two varieties of the oil, available in the market, black spruce oil and white spruce oil. The former is characterized by a stronger aroma than the white spruce oil. The aroma reminds you of the scent of Christmas and has a natural "uplifting"effect on your spirits. White spruce oil is characterized by a woody forest smell that has a soothing effect on your nerves.

Both black and white spruce oil are steam distilled from the needles and twigs of spruce trees. Black spruce oil is extracted from the Canadian black spruce trees or Picea Mariaana. The "white" variety is extracted from the Tsuga canadensis.
