About geranium oil
Traditionally it was believed that planting of geraniums warded off evil spirits. Today, this native of South Africa is used for various therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. There are about 700 species of the plant, but only a few can be used for the extraction of oil.
Oil is mostly steam distilled from the leaves and stalk of the Pelargonium odorantissimum plant. The perennial shrub grows to a height of about one meter.
