Casio Watches

Casio is a brand which initially started with manufacturing calculators but soon brought in a revolution in the watch market by introducing sophisticated electronic watches. The knowledge and advancement in the field of electronics made the company's foray into the watch market a huge success.

The Casio wristwatches for girls like the G-Shock and Baby-G (G-Shock for women) models are popular for their sporty and trendy looks that are a huge success among the target group.

About Casio Watches - origin and company profile

Casio was founded by Tadao Kashio and his family and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company developed its first calculator in the year 1957 while it took another 17 years before its first watch (which was Casiotron) was released. The watch displayed dates with automatic updates for 30 and 31 day-months as well as leap years.

Despite this late entry into the market, Casio watches became a craze in no time with some of the most technologically advanced and extremely fashionable wrist-gears. In 1989, Casio stunned the world with the release of its BM-100WJ digital watch, which had a sensor for forecasting weather trends.
